About Nathanael Smith
Hey, thanks for checking my personal page out. I am Nathanael Smith, also known by other names, such as Doug Mac, Nate Smitty, Andre, and others. Got several websites and such, so check them out.
So now for a little about me: Having grown up in a homeschool environment, I have always been more of an independently learning individual. If I don't know how to do something, I tend to go figure it out. Up till my time at college, I pursued a career in engineering. Having self-taught myself calculus (and failing at it), I entered Arkansas Tech pursuing my mechanical engineering degree. However, after 3 semesters of NOT doing any homework for the most part, I ended up having a crossroads present itself: either retake most of the engineering classes to relearn what I should've learned the first time (paying out of pocket if I chose this route), or change my major in order to save my full-ride scholarship that I had earned from my 27 ACT score. I chose the latter of these two options. I then chose a BA in Graphic design. Having had only one art class previous to this, most of my style during my time here has been learned as I picked up the softwares and styles of my teachers. I thus have had a mixed style that is a bit on the odd side when it comes to my drawings. Also, due to my more mathematical and engineering background, I have a more structured and orderly style as well. In December 2013, I graduated from Arkansas Tech, having kept my full-ride scholarship all 4.5 years, receiving my BA in Graphic Design and minor in mathematics. Now, I do not yet know where I will end up. My career may go more along the animation route, or the web-design/coding route, or label/logo design. I am NOT proficient in typography or layout, but I am very good at coding, illustrating, and animations. My dream job would be either in Pixar as an animator, or in my own small business as a photographer/printer/illustrator for books, magazines, and other periodicals. Needless to say, my options are wide at this time. I do not yet know where I will go from here, but I trust things will turn out in the long run. Who knows: I could be a part of the National Geographic's team!! If you end up liking my work in any of the websites I have done (or like my overall web-design), or have questions about what I have said or would like to hire me for any free-lance/part-time/full-time positions, or anything else you may want to contact me for, feel free to! I look forward to hearing from you. Go to my Contact page, or to any of the 4 icons on the top of this page to contact me. Thanks. ~Nathanael S. EDUCATION
